What is PAT Testing?
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Testing) involves a series of electrical and visual inspections on all portable appliances within a place of work. These tests determine whether or not the electrical appliances are safe for use.

A Portable Electrical Appliance is any electrical appliance that is moved when in use or can easily be moved from one place to another e.g. kettle, toaster, power tools, vacuum cleaners. This can also include larger items such as printers and photocopiers.
What happens if an item fails PAT testing?
The next course of action will depend on the reason for the item failing. Small repairs such as fuse replacements or loose wiring can be corrected on the spot, larger repairs will require further action.
Is PAT testing a legal requirement?
Although PAT testing is not a legal requirement, it is considered to be the best way for employees to comply with all electrical regulations and health and safety requirements.
How often should PAT Testing be carried out?

Does my equipment need to be switched off for PAT Testing?
Yes, visual inspections may be carried out without switching off the appliances but in order to carry out a full test it will be necessary to switch the appliance off.
What is included?
Included in all price quotes are all test reports, personalised labels and any replacement fuses required.
How do I know which items have been tested?
Once each item has been tested the engineer will place a personalised sticker on the appliance that will have a unique code to identify the item. Following this we will issue you with a certificate for your records which will indicate the results.
What qualifications are required to carry out PAT Testing?
The Electricity at Work Regulations state that only a competent person, who has the necessary skills, qualifications, knowledge and experience to carry out inspection and testing, can carry out PAT Testing Although.our engineers Hold C&G 2377-12 in Inservice appliance testing Pat testing is a part of this

We price each job individually, based on the number of appliances requiring testing. For a free quote please email us and we will get back to you as soon as possible. If attending your site We have a minimum charge of £45 which includes the first 20 Items and your report including travel to BB10,11 and 12 subsequent tests are charged depending on the site and the number and type of tests
